Résumé

Being a lifelong learner is a trait that is really important to me, and I like to think of my educational journey as one big learning experience that continuously grows with each semester of classes and work experience. With a dedication to functionality and a curiosity for what’s ahead of the curve, I keep my work organized, practical, and creative. Have a look at my past experiences, and feel free to reach out with any questions.

A pillar of the Ogden Honors College, studying abroad helped me to expand my perspective in a global context as well as develop personal independence. During this study abroad program, I took several classes for my minor, covering French language, literature, culture, and service learning. I also went on multiple group excursions and even connected with some family I met in Belgium!

LSU Sur Les Deux Bayous

May 2017

Arnaudville, LA

Following my freshman year, I wanted to not only expand my worldview, but also challenge myself with immersing myself in a non-native language, specifically, Cajun French. This linguistic and cultural immersion program allowed me to meet French and Creole locals who shared their language, cuisine, traditions, and hospitality with me.

Extracurriculars and Leadership

Tau Beta Pi, Louisiana Alpha chapter

President (2020 - 2021)

Recording Secretary (2019 - 2020)

Member (2019 - present)

Tau Beta Pi is the only honor society representing all engineering disciplines and the second-oldest honor society in the nation. The Louisiana Alpha chapter was founded at LSU in 1936 and has promoted integrity and excellence in engineering since.

This position alone may have helped me grow the most out of all my extracurriculars and I owe a lot to this learning experience! Serving as the Recording Secretary, I became familiar with the chapters' reporting requirements and deadlines, and helped foster communications in the group while initiating a move to increased organization and simplicity. Elected as President in Spring 2020, I had plenty of great ideas to tackle some of our chapter's biggest struggles. COVID-19 restrictions brought an end to our immediate ideas for the semester, which I will admit was quite disheartening and difficult to manage. Since then, I have realized it offered a unique opportunity to step back and develop a new "mission statement" and strategic plan for how the chapter will achieve our goals moving forward. This position has been a lot of work, but it is incredibly motivating to see it begin to pay off already!

Omega Chi Epsilon

Member (2019 - present)

Omega Chi Epsilon, or OXE, is an American honor society for chemical engineering students. The Alpha Omega chapter was founded at LSU in 1988. OXE promotes high scholarship, encourages meaningful student-faculty dialogue within the department and recognizes the valuable traits of character, integrity, and leadership. As a member of OXE at LSU, I am able to tutor younger students in chemical engineering classes.

American Institute of Chemical Engineers

Member (2016 - present)

AIChE is a professional organization for chemical engineers that was established in 1908 in order to distinguish chemical engineers as a profession independent of chemists and mechanical engineers. Becoming a member of AIChE during my first year of chemical engineering classes was a great decision that allowed me to become more involved and connected to my major. Through my involvement with AIChE, I have been able to connect with and hear great advice from different companies that employ chemical engineers, as well as foster relationships with other students in my classes.

Order of the Engineer

Member (2021 - present)

The Order of the Engineer was initiated in the United States to foster a spirit of pride and responsibility in the engineering profession.  The Order fosters a unity of purpose and the honoring of one’s pledge lifelong. I wear the Order of the Engineer ring on my little finger so that it will drag across any surface on which I write, providing a constant reminder of the engineer's oath.

I am an Engineer. In my profession, I take deep pride. To it, I owe solemn obligations. As an engineer, I pledge to practice integrity and fair dealing, tolerance and respect, and to uphold devotion to the standards and dignity of my profession. I will always be conscious that my skill carries with it the obligation to serve humanity by making the best use of the Earth's precious wealth. As an engineer, I shall participate in none but honest enterprises. When needed, my skill and knowledge shall be given, without reservation, for the public good. In the performance of duty, and in fidelity to my profession, I shall give my utmost.

Encounter at LSU

Founding Member (2017 - 2021)

Treasurer (2017 - 2018)

I believe that the homeless population deserves love, compassion, respect, and dignity, things fundamental to human life that these people are too often not given. In order to combat this disservice to our community members in Baton Rouge, some friends and I founded Encounter in 2017. Encounter is a club designed to raise awareness for Louisiana’s homeless by providing outreach to our peers, education to the community, and service beyond our college campus. Serving the homeless through Encounter, I strive to raise awareness for a situation that affects so many people in our communities and to reverse the stereotype that surrounds those without a home, one encounter at a time.

Chi Omega, Phi Gamma chapter

Alumna (2021 - present)

Active Member (2016 - 2021)

I joined the Phi Gamma chapter of Chi Omega during my freshman year of college in order to surround myself with a sisterhood that shared the same ideals that I do of service to others, high achievement, personal integrity, and meaningful friendships. I have been able to participate in our annual philanthropy benefitting Make-A-Wish foundation as well as countless other opportunities to serve the Baton Rouge community. To share some of my favorite lines of our symphony, that I pride myself on living by, "To live constantly above snobbery of word or deed; to place scholarship before social obligations and character before appearances; to be in the best sense, democratic rather than 'exclusive', and lovable rather than 'popular'; to work earnestly, to speak kindly, to act sincerely, to choose thoughtfully that course which occasion and conscience demand; to be womanly always; to be discouraged never..."

Order of Omega

Member (2020 - present)

The Order of Omega is an Greek honor society created to recognize "fraternity men and women who have attained a high standard of leadership in inter-fraternity activities." Based on my involvement in Chi Omega as well as my other campus leadership positions, illustrating my exemplary character, scholarship, service, and leadership, I have recently been accepted into the Order of Omega chapter at LSU.
